Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy

Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) combines ketamine treatment with psychotherapy to support healing from depression, trauma, anxiety, and other mental health challenges. While ketamine may help create a window for new perspectives and emotional flexibility, meaningful and lasting change often comes through the therapeutic work that happens before and after the medicine session.

My role is to guide you through that process.

I do not prescribe or administer ketamine. Instead, I work collaboratively with trusted psychiatrists who determine whether ketamine treatment is appropriate and safely oversee the medication. Together, we provide coordinated care so you feel supported throughout your healing journey.

What is Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy?

Ketamine is a medication that has been used safely in medical settings for decades. More recently, it has been used under medical supervision as an option for individuals experiencing treatment-resistant depression, PTSD, anxiety, and other conditions. Research suggests that when ketamine is paired with psychotherapy, many people are better able to process difficult emotions, access new insights, and create lasting change.

Psychotherapy helps transform those experiences into meaningful growth rather than allowing them to fade once the medication wears off.

My Role in Your Care

As your therapist, my focus is on helping you prepare for and integrate your ketamine experiences.

I collaborate with several experienced psychiatrists who can evaluate whether ketamine treatment is appropriate for you. If you're already working with a psychiatrist, I'm happy to coordinate care with them as well.

Preparation Sessions

Preparation is one of the most important parts of the process.

Before your first ketamine treatment, we'll spend time:

  • Understanding your goals for treatment.
  • Exploring the concerns or symptoms you want to address.
  • Discussing what to expect during the experience.
  • Identifying intentions without placing pressure on specific outcomes.
  • Developing grounding and coping skills.
  • Creating a plan for emotional support before and after treatment.

Entering the experience feeling informed, supported, and emotionally prepared can help you approach treatment with greater confidence.

Integration Sessions

Many people describe ketamine experiences as meaningful, emotional, or deeply insightful. Integration is where those experiences begin to create lasting change.

During integration sessions, we'll work together to:

The goal isn't simply to understand what happened during treatment—it's to help those insights become meaningful changes in your relationships, behaviors, and overall well-being.

Conditions That May Benefit

Ketamine-assisted psychotherapy may be considered for individuals experiencing:

  • Anxiety disorders.
  • PTSD and trauma-related symptoms.
